Monk On The Go healthcare journey
Our Story

We Didn't Set Out to Build a Company.
We Set Out to Keep a Promise.

Monk On The Go is not one person's mission, it's a team of people who came from different countries, different careers, and different reasons for caring, and found the same purpose: making sure no patient ever walks a foreign hospital system alone.

Pankaj Sawardekar - Founder, Monk On The Go

The Journey

Built around one belief: patients need someone they can trust when navigating healthcare far from home.

Care beyond logistics.

One Purpose

Different countries. Different careers. One shared reason for caring.

Pankaj Sawardekar - Founder

“The real story of Monk On The Go isn't about just me. It's about who chose to build this with me.”

Our Story

It Started With One Phone Call.

It began with one phone call, at a moment when the world had just shut down and an entire leisure travel industry built on "taking care of people" had gone quiet overnight.

That call was about connecting international patients with Indian doctors. What I found on the other end wasn't a logistics problem, it was patients who needed someone to trust.

But no single person can be present for every family, in every hospital, in every country, at 2 a.m. when something goes wrong. So the real story of Monk On The Go isn't about just me. It's about who chose to build this with me.

The Promise

Make sure no patient ever walks a foreign hospital system alone.

The People Behind the Journey

Built Across Nationalities & Regions.

Our team spans across nationalities, regions, bringing together backgrounds in hospitality, clinical care, logistics, patient coordination, and management. Because a patient from Lagos and a patient from London don't need the same handholding, and we built a team that understands that difference firsthand.

Mentor

Dr Ganesh Bhagwat

A respected voice in the healthcare fraternity, Dr. Bhagwat has guided our approach from the very beginning. In fact, I could step into this industry only because of his support & confidence. He not only helped me with the contacts but also guided on how to approach doctors, what to say, what not to say (this was more important) and building a doctor onboarding pitch. He has been there at every step of this journey, selflessly.

Nigeria

Nnaji Christian

Chief Partner - Nigeria

Christian is our longest-standing on ground partner from Nigeria. With his decades of experience in healthcare facilitation, he has shaped the policies and standards we follow for managing patients on the ground. His deep understanding of what Nigerian families need when travelling abroad for treatment, and his hands-on presence throughout their journey, has made him one of our most trusted voices on patient welfare.

Delhi NCR

Nitesh Bhardwaj (NB)

Operations Head - Delhi NCR

I met Nitesh in Delhi while I was handling our first patient. This guy has solutions for every problem you throw at him, and that's what I loved about him from the start. He's known for stepping in decisively during emergency situations, ensuring patients and their families are never left without support when it matters most.

Mauritius

Manfred Cazelin

Chief Partner - Mauritius

Manfred leads our presence in Mauritius, bringing genuine warmth and round-the-clock availability to every patient he supports. His empathy, and consistent care for the patients, day or night, has made him a dependable point of contact for families navigating treatment far from home.

Chennai

Babu T Nathan

Operations Head - Chennai

Bringing prior leadership experience in technology and innovation from one of South India's largest media houses, Babu now applies that same operational discipline to managing patient logistics in Chennai. His deep familiarity with the region allows him to offer patients not just efficient coordination, but a genuinely enriching cultural experience during their stay.

Business Development

Mayuri Joisar

Manager - Business Development

With over a decade of experience in the medical tourism industry, Mayuri specializes in business development, partner management, and patient onboarding. Her industry expertise strengthens how we identify and manage the partnerships that support every patient's journey.

Our Philosophy

We Exist to Remove Uncertainty.

Medical tourism today moves over a million patients into India every year, and for many of them, the hardest part isn't the treatment. It's everything around it: which hospital to trust, whether the pricing is honest, who to call when things go wrong in a country they've never visited.

We exist to remove that uncertainty.

What We Stand For

Radical Transparency

No hidden markups, no surprise invoices. Every patient receives a detailed treatment estimate upfront, and every hospital payment is made directly to the hospital, never through us.

A Coordinator, Not a Call Center

From the first medical report to the flight back home, one dedicated care coordinator stays with each patient, managing appointments, visas, accommodation, and follow-up care.

Independent, Always

We are a healthcare facilitation company, with patient first approach. We're an independent, patient-advocate, comparing hospitals and specialists objectively, on health outcomes.

Real Families. Real Trust.

Since our founding, we've walked alongside families from Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, the UK, and beyond - through liver transplants, cardiac surgeries, cancer treatment, and knee replacements. And, every story on this site is one we lived through with a real family.

Real Families. Real Trust.

Journeys We Lived Through.

Families from Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, the UK, and beyond have been supported through major treatment journeys, with the same focus on coordination, clarity, and human connection.
